Rugby Coaching Doc J Zimmerman (Rugby Doc)

Doc J Zimmerman is a USA Rugby Level 300 Coach with over 30 years of rugby experience. Dr. J is the director of rugby at the Jersey Shore Sharks Rugby Club on the Jersey Shore of Southern NJ in the USA. He is the head coach of the men's rugby club, skills coach for the High School team and developer and coach of the Shark's co-ed youth tag rugby program. Doc graduated from one of the nation's top rugby schools, Life University. Dr. J was on scholarship at Life U for rugby as a prop forward and played on many of their championship teams. Doc was a select side player with the Eastern Rugby Union (ERU) and the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union (EPRU). As the years went on, Doc decided that he would do the opposite of all of his tight five forward friends and gradually lose weight and become fitter. Dr. J played his last rugby game at 53 years old with the Jersey Shore Gray Sharks Old Boys Club. Too skinny to continue to be a prop, his wife wisely suggested he retire from active playing.
