Green Card Voices Channel Description Snapshot
Channel Description
In January 2003, a small group of individuals were inspired by a simple idea: to share stories of U.S. immigrants from all walks of life and all corners of the world; the effort was non-partisan and grass roots. In taking the baton passed by the award-winning book, Green Card Stories, Green Card Voices aims to create the largest digital library of video-based stories of immigrants and reach an audience significantly larger than that of its print-based predecessor.
On September 9, 2013 Green Card Voices was organized as a nonprofit, charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We aspire to build a bridge between immigrants and non-immigrants from across the country by sharing the first hand immigration stories of foreign-born Americans, by helping us see the 'wave of immigrants' as individuals, with interesting stories of family, hard work, and cultural diversity.
