John Howard Smith

I am Professor of History at East Texas A&M University, where I teach early American history, the history of religion in America/the U.S., American Indian history, and early African-American history, as well as general U.S. history. My most recent books are "The First Great Awakening: Redefining Religion in British America, 1725-1750" (2015) and "A Dream of the Judgment Day: American Millennialism and Apocalypticism, 1620-1890" (2021).
