Skateistan is an award-winning, women-led organization—bringing the world together, with skateboarding. Working in many of the most insecure and unequal communities on the planet, we create safe spaces where marginalized children can learn, play, and shape their futures. Starting in the streets of Kabul, Afghanistan, in 2008 (where we still operate today!), Skateistan now reaches over 10,000 individuals in more than 50 locations over five continents. Over 56% of participants are girls.
