Michele Marvulli began his career as a pianist, prize-winner of international piano competitions and performer with distinguished orchestras. His career as conductor began under the experienced guidance of Franco Ferrara and Nino Rota. M. Marvulli conducted many European opera companies and orchestras. He also performed in USA, Australia and Mexico. As pianist and conductor he has given italian premiere performance of Boulez's "Le Marteau sans Maitre", as well as world premiere performance of Nino Rota's "I due timidi" and Piano Concerto in e minor "Piccolo Mondo Antico". He also served as a member of the Administrative Council of the Rossini Opera Festival and as Head of the G. Rossini Music Conservatorium in Pesaro. In 1991 he received the Italian Music Critics Award "Massimo Mila", in recognition for his outstanding contributions to Italian symphonic music. Michele Marvulli is also a renowned piano teacher: many of his pupils are international renowned pianists.
