She is the Chief Public Attorney of the Public Attorney’s Office and the 4th Placer in the 1989 Bar Examinations. She is a Doctor of Social Development graduate (GWA 1.20) from the University of the Philippines, Quezon City; and has completed the Senior Executive Fellows Program, Senior Executive Program on National and International Security, and acquired a Certificate in Public Financial Management from the Executive Education Program at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), U.S.A.
Chief Acosta was appointed as the nationwide head of the PAO on February 23, 2001. Since then, she has become a herald of hope to the indigents and other clients of the PAO who are searching for justice.
She is currently the main anchor of #PALA - Persida Acosta's Legal Advice to provide FREE legal aid, advice, counselling as a fundamental human right for all, especially the poor members of the society via her Official FB and YT pages.
