Founded in the United States in 1955, the Society for Ethnomusicology (SEM) is an international network of approximately 1,800 scholars, teachers, students, and activists dedicated to music research, education, and advocacy worldwide. “Conversations in Ethnomusicology and World Music" offers an introduction to the goals, ideas, and work of ethnomusicologists and their colleagues. Channel sections include interviews with ethnomusicologists, interviews with musicians conducted by ethnomusicologists, excerpts of conference presentations and discussions pertaining to ethnomusicology, and excerpts from workshops in world music. More videos will be added on an ongoing basis.
