Channel Description
Jawad Ali is a Tampa-based, Afghan-American singer-songwriter, rapper, and record producer. Since 2003, he’s gained notable recognition as a featured artist on several national music tours and international festivals including the Echoing Change Tour with Brother Ali hosted by Penny Appeal USA, Poetic Vision Tour with Raef hosted by Razjan, and Voices for Change with Outlandish hosted by MAS, and MuslimFest.
As an independent artist, his most notable work comprises of three albums, We Fell from Heaven (2021), Agnosia (2014), and Sweet Dream Animations (2012). The themes of his works revolve around the issues of injustice and oppression; and the uniquely intertwined emergence of both a 21st-century Muslim-American, and a 1st-generation Afghan-American immigrant identity. Several of Jawad’s family members are displaced Afghan refugees, whose stories and adversities are also reflected in his works.
