Back To The Studs

My husband and I are taking our 1881 Brooklyn house back to the studs to create our modern family home + 2 rental apartments. Sean and I met in 1994 walking in opposite directions down Broadway on a sunny spring afternoon on the Upper West Side and have been together for 26 years. We became fathers 20 years ago and were lucky enough to have been in the delivery room for the birth of our daughter in Texas. I grew up in Ohio and Sean's from Australia. He's an actor and I'm a TV producer. We're both freelance workers so having rental income has always played an important part in our finances. Finally, after ten years of saving our money we've begun a gut renovation of our 1881 house and are already learning SO much about how townhouses were built 140 years ago and what it's going to take to bring it into the 21st century and become our family home.
