Jewish Heritage Alliance (JHA) - Platform dedicated to the Saga of Sefarad (the Jews of the Iberian Peninsula). The history of the Jews of Sefarad is a remarkable, relatively obscure story that begins in the remote past with profound consequences that continue today. Jews arrived at the Iberian Peninsula as early as biblical times. Sefarad became home to a large Jewish community noted for its richness and virtuosity, but a community that suffered persecutions, pogrom, massacres, forced conversions, and eventually expelled and forced into exile. We follow in the footsteps of the exiled, depicting the profound effects and consequences of the expulsions and conversions. In defiance of expectations, the expulsion of the Jews from Spain became an occasion for renewed creativity.
