Channel Description

Marek Napiórkowski is a leading Polish jazz guitarist and composer. Since 2012, readers of “Jazz Forum” magazine have chosen him as Jazz Guitarist of the Year. He is a sixteen-time nominee for the FRYDERYK Music Award, which he won in 2019. He also received the Onet Kultura O!śnienia Award for the album “STRING THEORY” with the AUKSO Orchestra. He composed soundtracks nominated for the Polish Film “Orły” Award in 2023 and winner of the Audience Award at the Krakow Film Music Festival. His name appears on more than 150 albums. On his solo records, he has collaborated with Gregoire Maret, Chris Potter, Mino Cinelu, Anna Maria Jopek, Clarence Penn, Leszek Możdżer, Adam Pierończyk and Henryk Miśkiewicz. He played with Pat Metheny, Richard Bona, Marcus Miller, Tomasz Stańko, Urszula Dudziak, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Sugar Blue, Hadrien Feraud, Adam Holzman and Dhafer Youssef. He hosts a radio show on Radio Nowy Świat and is a professor at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
