I’m H.G. Roberts, author of On Monsters and Phantoms, a memoir that recounts my journey through extreme religious trauma and deconversion from Christianity. You'll also see me featured in the documentary film "Heathens," produced by Pale Blue Dot Films. Heathens, premiering later in 2025 or early 2026, is a hard-hitting documentary that explores why more and more Americans are leaving the Christian faith, and the tension that creates within families and communities.
