Our Herbal Homestead

We are a family of herbalist homesteaders working toward greater self and community sufficiency. We believe in cultivating resiliency not only for ourselves, but for the wider community of humans and our more-than-human kin.

In these times, we should all be learning/remembering the survival skills that are our ancestral inheritance, while also recognizing that even the most skilled person or family will wither in fearful isolation (a scenario most "preppers" are working toward).

Community is our best insurance policy, not well-defended isolation.

We farm with an eye toward not only independence but interdependence, in deep honor of the ancestors who stand behind us, the living beings who walk beside us, and the earth beneath our feet.

Amber and Owen have 30 years cumulative experience growing plants, wildcrafting, and making and using herbal medicines. Together with our daughters we are joyfully learning the arts of permaculture and raising chickens.
