In midlife, we stumbled into early retirement years before it was vogue.
Not wanting to rely on retirement withdrawals for life or move to a major city, we devised a radical plan.
1. We pursued buying/creating income generating assets.
2. We lowered risk while maximizing portfolio returns based on what I learned investing for decades plus an obsession analyzing investment strategies.
Eventually, it worked, allowing us to replace previous job income and delay withdrawals.
These solutions are ignored in most retirement planning where everything is about withdrawals and social security so here I share what we learned.
We also ditched the prevailing belief that we're supposed to get poor later in life & realized it's still fun making money.
