Taj hashmi official-I talk about Bangladesh and South Asia in particular and Islam the Middle East and Asia-Pacific in general from historical cultural and political perspectives.
I am retired professor of history and security studies. I taught at universities in Bangladesh Australia Singapore Canada and the US. My major publications include Global Jihad and America (SAGE 2014) Women and Islam in Bangladesh (Palgrave-Macmillan 2000) Pakistan as a Peasant Utopia (Westview Press 1992) and Ouponibeshik Bangla (Papyrus Kolkata 1985). I am an adjunct professor of Security Studies at Austin Peay State University in the US.A Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
