Trashmagination

Trashmagination is about art made from recycled materials. My name is Carla and I upcycle mostly t-shirts, neckties and upholstery samples using weaving, quilting and embroidery. From 2016-2020, I hosted a podcast about creative reuse of materials. You can find the audio from those episodes here. In the past, I shared my love of creative reuse at community events. I would help people make crafts from plastic milk jugs and plastic caps, including an igloo made from milk jugs which we called the Jugloo. I have been making recycled art since 1989. I'm originally from eastern Canada (Newfoundland and Nova Scotia) and now live in Virginia, USA.
