PEAK

PEAK supports parents who find themselves estranged from their adult children, either because their child(ren) has made the decision to withdraw from the relationship or because the parent has found it necessary to establish a boundary that the adult child has declined to honor. We acknowledge and share experiences we have as parents of estranged adult children, the ways those affect us, and the struggles in moving forward toward lives that are positive and meaningful. We discover that parental estrangement is not rare, nor is it a measure of our own health, competence, or worth.

Our goals are to:
~raise awareness everywhere about this phenomenon
~create PEAK groups where estranged parents can come together to support and encourage each other in the recovery process
~to educate, encourage, and support estranged parents about the recovery process
~to educate professions who provide services to estranged parents about the impact estrangement has on provision of those services
