Since Covid shut down churches for a few months, I've produced sermon videos. These are more than videos of me standing up and speaking to an empty room. Rather, I'm speaking directly to you and incorporating videos clips, images, music, and the occasional Dad-joke in an effort to give you the best learning experience possible.

I try to bring my PhD in Old Testament Literature to bear on passages of scripture both familiar and not-so-familiar. I try to make the not-so-familiar passages more accessible and less obscure, and bring fresh insight to the familiar passages.

I don't seek to beat anyone up or make anyone feel bad, guilty--or just plain bored; neither do I shy away from the radical nature of Jesus' message. None of us should feel comfortable with the gap between who were are and who God intends for us to be, but neither should we beat ourselves up about it. We are all in the process of becoming.

God is patient with us; we should be too. And with each other.
