Welcome to The Grit and Polish! We’re Garrett and Cathy Poshusta, the husband and wife duo behind the Grit and Polish, a home design and renovation blog. Renovation is a family affair for us Poshustas and we take on old houses in Washington state with our 3 kids in tow. Following Cathy’s vision for natural, timeless design, we transform tired spaces into welcoming, family-friendly, and inspiring homes. As hardened DIY’ers, we perform the lion’s share of the work ourselves. This allows us to use a craft-as-you-go approach that integrates old character with modern amenities. The end result is an old house with new life!
