Brisbane River - the whole journey Channel Description Snapshot

Channel Description

We're on a journey on the Brisbane River, from its source at the top of Cooyar Creek in the Bunya Mountains to the estuary and Morteton Bay, exploring the local histories, natural histories, industries, people and stories along its path.

The trek will be undertaken in stages starting early 2021, initially by foot and then kayak as we reach permanent waters. The total distance travelled, from the source of the Brisbane River in the Bunya Mountains to Juno Point and Moreton Bay, will be about 400 kilometers, and it is likely that it will take two years to complete the trip. Episodes will be published as and when they are completed.

We have a growing list of people to meet and places to visit along the way, but we're always interested in more leads. If you have any significant connection to the river, current or historical, we'd love to hear from you. Email us at bris.river.project@gmail.com.
