Lúčnica - The Slovak National Folklore Ballet

Slovakia, a picturesque central European country of lowlands and mountains, has become a crossroad of the continent´s cultural influences reflected in original Slovak folklore: national folk songs, music, dances and handmade costumes, representing the country´s specific regions. The Slovak National Folklore Ballet Lúčnica symbolizes the original culture of our nation, its dance, instrumental and vocal expressions, spreading our heritage to audiences at home and abroad. There are two important qualities to Lúčnica: eternal youth, represented by the ensemble members - students of colleges and universities, and the artistic direction of the ensemble centering on traditional folklore merging with a unique professional stage adaptations by Prof. Štefan Nosáľ.
