Mr Bill's Paracord Cross Channel Description Snapshot
Channel Description
This channel is dedicated to how I learned to tie what I am calling a Vertical Crown Knot and passing this knowledge to everyone. I've searched for this knot and have not found it. I learned it in 1974 when as a young E3 in the US Navy I was assigned, for six months, to clean the barracks. The manager was a Boatswains Mate. This rate usually ties all of the decorative knots found on Navy ships. Because of my interest in knot tying he showed me how to tie this and several other knots to make belts, camera straps, purses, hanging lamps, and many other things.
The Vertical Crown Knot is the first half of a Square, or Cobra, Knot with a twist. In the videos I show how to make a cross necklace with the knot. From start to finish I can make a cross necklace in 15 minutes using a little less than 9' of 550 paracord. I've also used 95 paracord to make smaller crosses.
Here are the cord lengths I use:
550 paracord: 1 - 50" and 3 - 18"
95 paracord: 1 - 43" and 3 - 12"
