Matt Willis has established himself as a leading figure in the bagpipe community through his popular YouTube channel, which serves as a valuable resource for aspiring pipers worldwide. Matt began playing bagpipes in 1996 and joined Silver Thistle Pipes & Drums in Austin, Texas, by 2000, competing across the U.S. and at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow in 2001 From 2004 to 2016, he was the piper for the Celtic rock band The Killdares and later performed with Rathmore until 2023.
An accomplished composer, he has authored two tune books: Tunes, Chords & Harmony Volume ONE and Volume TWO: Christmas Edition. As an experienced instructor since 2001, Matt has taught nationwide and worked with police and fire department bands to enhance their skills.
