Dr. Rene F. Brown is the eighth pastor of the historic Mount Zion First Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, La. At Mount Zion First Baptist, Pastor Brown shepherds a flock of over 500 hundred members and is administrator of 48 outreach ministries.
Beyond his at role at Mount Zion First Baptist, Dr. Brown leads the Fourth District Missionary Baptist Association of Louisiana where he is president and moderator. The Association represents over 200 Missionary Baptist churches across 6 parishes in South Louisiana. The Association is the largest group of African-American Missionary Baptist congregations in the National Baptist Convention USA. Inc.
As a teacher of preachers, his peers say Dr. Brown makes Biblical Scriptures so plain that even children can understand. He lays out Scriptures by exhorting believers to “turn in your Bibles.”
Dr. Brown has been married to his wife Diana Lyn for 30 years. They are the parents of two sons, Antonio Terrell and Torrey Rene’.
