Ye Olde Gunner Channel Description Snapshot
Channel Description
Dedicated to the fascinating world of smoothbore black powder Ordnance and the art of Gunnery.
Here we enthusiastically explore the firing of historic weapons, with an emphasis on naval and coastal guns, where we encourage safety, and better knowledge and understanding of this field.
The remarkable history of naval ordnance goes all the way back to the beginning of the Hundred Years' War, where in 1338, at the Battle of Arnemuiden, the English ship, a Cog or Nef, the Christopher of the Tower, was armed with three cannon and one hand gun.
You can follow us on Facebook, at Ye Olde Sea Gunner, where we focus on guns from the birth of naval ordnance around 1340s up until before the advent of rifled and breach loading guns.
